“I didn’t say I was different or better. I’m not. Hell, I sympathize; I sympathize completely. Apathy is the solution. I mean, it’s easier to lose yourself in drugs than it is to cope with life. It’s easier to steal what you want than it is to earn it. It’s easier to beat a child than it is to raise it. Hell, love costs: it takes effort and work. s7”—William Somerset, Se7en
“A beautiful girl can make you dizzy
Like you’ve been drinking jack and coke all morning
She can make you feel high
Full a single greatest commodity known to man
Promise, promise of a better day
Promise of a greater hope
Promise of a new tomorrow
This particular aura can be found in the gait of a beautilful girl
In her smile and in her soul and the way she makes every rotten little thing about life
seem like its gonna be okay.”—Taking Back Sunday - Great Romances of the 20th Century (demo version)
“Forget your personal tragedy. We are all bitched from the start and you especially have to be hurt like hell before you can write seriously. But when you get the damned hurt, use it-don’t cheat with it.”— Ernest Hemingway (via starfishblotsofink)
He liked the girls that were walking along the other side of the street. He liked the look of them much better than the French girls or the German girls. But the world they were in was not the world he was in. He would like to have one of them. But it was not worth it. They were such a nice pattern. He liked the pattern. It was exciting. But he would not go through all the talking. He did not want one badly enough. He liked to look at them alll, though. It was not worth it. Not now when things were getting good again.
I get horoscopes by email (lame, I know, but I’m into that) and this is what my horoscope just said:
Do changes to your routine stress you out? With the Moon opposite the Sun, you might feel challenged, but you will be rewarded for your effort and determination! You can find a balance between what you want to do and what you need to do. Sure, change can be intimidating. But you can handle it!
I better be rewarded for this school bullshit in the future.
Day 08 - Favorite memory related to Taking Back Sunday or one of their songs?
I have memories with just about everything on Tell All Your Friends, both good and bad, so I’ll go more recent.
When I picked up New Again, it was a warm summer day and I listened to it while driving around with my windows down. I got to Summer, Man, and because of recent personal reasons at that time, that song hit hard with me. It was beautiful and it was brutally honest about all kinds of things in my life at that time. I love when music hits your soul that way. I actually got teary because it was so close to home.
I’m getting a tattoo from that song. I love it, it’s brilliant.
